empsoft ("we", "us", or "our") places the highest priority on protecting user privacy in the AI Traffic Survey application ("the App"). This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled within the App.
1. About the App
The App is a traffic survey tool that uses your smartphone's camera and AI technology to automatically count vehicles and pedestrians. All AI processing is performed locally on the device and does not require an internet connection.
2. Data We Collect
2.1 Camera Footage
- The App uses camera footage solely for AI inference processing
- Video frames are immediately discarded from memory after AI processing is complete
- No images or video are saved as files
- No images or video are transmitted to external servers
2.2 Location Information
- With your permission, the App may access your location to record the survey site
- Location data is stored only on your device, associated with survey data
- You may also manually enter location information
- Location data is never transmitted externally
2.3 Survey Statistical Data
The App stores the following statistical data on your device:
- Vehicle counts by type (cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, bicycles)
- Pedestrian counts by estimated attributes (gender, age group)
- Traffic volume by time period
- Average passing times and detection confidence scores
3. Data We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect any of the following:
- Facial images or video recordings
- Personally identifiable information
- Individual movement tracking data
- Contact information
- Device identifiers
- Browsing history or detailed app usage data
4. Data Storage and Management
4.1 Local Storage
All data is stored exclusively on your device. No data is transmitted to cloud servers.
4.2 Automatic Deletion of Temporary Data
Detailed detection data temporarily retained for AI processing during surveys is automatically deleted at the following times:
- Upon normal completion of a survey
- Upon interruption of a survey
- When starting a new survey
- Upon app restart after an abnormal termination (crash recovery feature)
4.3 Data Deletion
You can delete saved survey data at any time using the in-app features. Additionally, uninstalling the App will remove all data from your device.
5. Third-Party Sharing
We do not provide, sell, or share your data with any third parties.
6. External Services
6.1 Firebase
The App uses Google Firebase as its application infrastructure. However, your survey data, location information, and camera footage are never transmitted to Firebase.
6.2 In-App Purchases
Payments for the premium plan are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store payment systems. Payment information is handled according to each platform's privacy policy. We do not directly access your payment information.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 is using the App, we will take prompt action.
8. Security
The App ensures data security through its design of performing all data processing locally on the device without requiring network communication. Please manage the security of your device itself (screen lock, encryption, etc.) on your own.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated date. In the case of significant changes, we will also notify you within the App.
